This mesmerizing 1891 lithograph frames a quiet, gridded window pane revealing a detailed, leafy tree silhouette stretching toward the morning light. Redon masterfully utilizes a heavy, velvety chiaroscuro border to draw the eye into the luminous, highly textured center pane, simulating the ethereal glow of an emerging dawn. Hauntingly serene and full of graphic, symbolic depth, this classic print brings an elegant, contemplative mood and historic sophistication to any wall space.

Odilon Redon

Odilon Redon was a French Symbolist artist who initially gained recognition for his eerie, monochrome charcoal drawings and lithographs known as noirs. Around the turn of the 20th century, he radically transitioned into vibrant oil and pastel works that combined natural elements with eastern religious themes and Japanese stylistic influences. Characterized by a dreamlike, semi-abstract aesthetic, his innovative later work ultimately served as an important precursor to both Dadaism and Surrealism.
